SEW-EURODRIVE UK names new managing director
Normanton-headquartered drive technology specialist SEW-EURODRIVE UK has appointed Andy Turner as managing director following the retirement of John Pickup.
Andy steps into the role after 17 years with the business, most recently serving as operations director.
He joined SEW-EURODRIVE UK in 2008 as an external area sales manager and has progressed through a range of senior sales and operational roles.
Having started his career as an apprentice before qualifying as a mechanical engineer, he brings extensive experience across the drives and controls supply chain.
In his new position, Andy will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of SEW-EURODRIVE’s UK division, including setting strategy in line with global group objectives and overseeing operations and financial performance.
Andy said: “I am proud to be taking on the role of managing director for this wonderful company that I have been a part of for 17 years.
“I have some very big shoes to fill but am grateful to John Pickup for his advice and guidance over the years to prepare me for this role.
“As we look ahead, I am keen to further unite our teams across our various products to ensure that we are offering the very best, holistic and effective solutions for our customers.
“We want to be the go-to industrial engineering solutions provider, and I am confident that we have the team, the products and the ambition to achieve that goal through maintaining consistent sales growth and growing our market share in automation, industrial gears and service.”
SEW-EURODRIVE UK employs around 160 people across four UK locations and provides drive technology solutions to industries including logistics, manufacturing and airport handling.
