Blu Sky backs Eagles’ title run
An accountancy firm has netted a sponsorship deal with a professional basketball team as both organisations target continued success.
Newcastle Eagles have secured a front-of-shirt partnership with North Shields-based accountancy firm Blu Sky for the current season, placing the B Corp brand prominently on the men’s team kit.
The agreement comes as the Eagles reach a record 33rd major title final and prepare to defend the Super League Basketball Trophy.
For Blu Sky, the partnership reflects a period of strong growth and ambition.
The firm supports businesses across the UK with services including accounting, tax planning, business advisory and investment readiness.
Over the past year, Blu Sky has strengthened its senior leadership team, recruited eight new employees and set a target of £3 million turnover by 2027.
Jon Dudgeon, Blu Sky founder and director, said: “Our partnership with the Eagles has gone from strength to strength since we first got involved in 2023, so when we were approached with the opportunity to be on the kit, it was a natural evolution for us.
“We are passionate about being a part of the club, our staff and clients alike absolutely love it, and we’re proud to help inspire the next generation of fans.
“We’ve had an incredible year at Blu Sky, increasing our revenue by 20 per cent, and as our business has grown, so has our commitment to supporting the Eagles and we couldn't be more proud to be involved in this record season.”
On court, the Eagles have also enjoyed a standout run, including last season’s trophy win and a historic appearance in a major European final, underlining the shared momentum behind the new partnership.
Paul Blake, managing director at Newcastle Eagles, added: “We’re hugely grateful to Jon, Steve and the Blu Sky team for their incredible support to both our men’s and women’s teams over the past two years.
“We’ve been delighted to see their business grow while welcoming their staff and clients to the Vertu Arena each week to get behind the team.
“This season's increased investment from Blu Sky has been a big boost and we truly appreciate their continued backing.”
