Healthcare technology firm eyes US expansion
A healthcare technology firm has unveiled transatlantic expansion plans.
Wellola is targeting the US medical market.
Bosses say the blueprint provides “immense potential for collaboration in a healthcare sector that is constantly evolving”.
The move comes after Dublin and Leeds-based Wellola was supported by West Yorkshire Business Boost’s Export Programme.
Benefiting from market research and workshops, officials say the venture helped the firm – known for software that helps hospitals and clinics manage patient appointments and care pathways – secure vital East Coast regulatory updates and embark on a multi-day Minnesota visit.
Launched in 2016, Wellola has secured contracts with healthcare providers including Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
West Yorkshire Business Boost is delivered by support organisation Exemplas alongside Leeds Beckett University and West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Sonia Neary, Wellola founder and chief executive, said: “West Yorkshire Business Boost has played a pivotal role in helping us reach new markets, providing validation, business confidence, insight, tailored research and invaluable networking opportunities.”
Karla Tun, West Yorkshire Business Boost export manager, added: “We’re delighted to help Wellola navigate the complexities of operating globally, explore the US market and build meaningful collaborations with innovators, partners and potential investors.
“The team is making great strides towards achieving its global ambition.”
