Insurance firm grows with veterinary sector deal
An insurance intermediary has expanded with a takeover.
Clear Group has bought Shire Insurance Services.
Bosses say the move for the veterinary sector broker “strengthens” London-based Clear Group’s “UK retail pillar with a high-quality specialist capability”.
Founded in 1981, Tamworth-headquartered Shire Insurance Services employs 15 staff and places gross written premiums of about £7 million.
Under the terms of the takeover, Shire Insurance Services' majority shareholder Keith Dickinson and its wider team have been retained to “ensure continuity for clients, insurer partners and colleagues”.
Mike Edgeley, group chief executive, said: “Shire Insurance Services is a highly regarded specialist business with deep expertise in the veterinary sector.
“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategy of building leading specialist propositions within our UK retail pillar.”
