Shopping hub hails offer after bagging record sales
A retail park has hailed its “compelling offer” after chalking up record sales.
Dalton Park saw revenues rise 6.1 per cent in 2025 as 4.6 million shoppers flocked to its stores.
Bosses say the uptick marks a third year of growth and reflects the “strength of the destination and retailers’ confidence” in the hub, which stands on former colliery land in Murton, east Durham.
They add results were fuelled by robust demand for health and beauty products – boosted by the arrival of cosmetics firm Rituals – with the sector recording 29 per cent growth.
Officials say the park’s menswear, sportswear, food and beverage and mixed fashion operators also enjoyed “significant uplifts” during the year, with Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve sales 22 per cent and 32 per cent better off respectively.
Nicky Lovell, head of outlets and retail business development at operator Global Mutual, said: “Delivering record sales for a third consecutive year – while significantly outperforming both pre-COVID-19 and post-acquisition benchmarks – demonstrates the long-term strength of the destination.”
