Block manager eyes growth after early success
A residential property management specialist is targeting further regional expansion after a strong first year operating in North Yorkshire.
Pure Block Management, which operates as part of the Garness Group alongside several complementary property and licensing specialists based in York and Hull, has reported rapid growth since opening a York office in December 2024, securing close to 30 contracts and taking on management of more than 1000 residential units across the county.
The firm, which has decades of experience in East Yorkshire, now manages a wide range of shared residential developments, from large estates to smaller schemes in market and coastal towns.
Its North Yorkshire portfolio includes developments in York, Wetherby, Harrogate, Whitby and Malton, covering apartments, houses and mixed-use sites.
Services span full block and estate management, including budgeting, regulatory compliance and maintenance of communal areas.
The past year has also brought national recognition, with the company highly commended in the scale-up category at the 2025 News on the Block Property Management Awards.
Following its early success in the region, Pure Block is targeting further growth in 2026 as more leaseholders look to outsource management of shared developments.
Associate director Laura Street said: “We were obviously thrilled with the success and growth we enjoyed in 2025, but mostly by the reasons people were turning to us.
“There has been a continual stream of new business coming through the door, and it has been clear to see that a new management service was needed in this sector in North Yorkshire.
“People have approached us due to being frustrated at the level of service of their previous providers, and because some were using national companies which simply can’t provide the level of local service and responsiveness we can.
“Communication, clarity and compliance are key to success in block management.
“Freeholders and leaseholders will only switch management if they are unhappy with their current providers, or if they feel somebody else can provide them with better levels of service and value for money.
“The pleasing thing is we have started 2026 in the same manner, with new contracts to be signed in the coming weeks.
“We are certainly looking to continue our growth in 2026.”
