Property consultancy opens Newcastle office
A built environment consultancy has expanded its regional footprint with a new city centre base.
Ridge and Partners has opened its first Newcastle office at The Spire on Pilgrim Street.
The new base, which takes Ridge’s total network to 15 locations nationwide, has launched with a team of 12 professionals covering surveying, project management, engineering and health and safety, with further growth planned as demand increases.
Bosses say the team will support a range of regeneration and development schemes across the North East, including the £10 billion QTS data centre campus in Cambois, near Blyth.
They add the new office will also create new employment opportunities, spanning graduate and apprentice roles through to senior professionals, helping to strengthen skills and expertise within the region’s built environment sector.
Paul Heron, partner and Newcastle office lead, said: “Newcastle was the natural choice for expansion into the North East.
“The city’s strong talent pool, supported by leading universities, positions it as an attractive hub for both clients and employees.
“There is real momentum right now with significant investment being made across the region, so opening here means Ridge can be closer to our clients and tap into everything the region has to offer.
“It’s all part of building a stronger presence across the North, bringing our expertise closer to where clients need it most.”
Councillor Alex Hay, deputy leader of Newcastle City Council, added: “I’m thrilled to welcome Ridge and Partners to Newcastle.
“The city’s built environment sector is having a real moment in the sun with the strong pipeline of development and regeneration activity across Newcastle and the wider North East.
“Ridge’s commitment to creating new graduate and apprenticeship roles will provide our young people with tangible and exciting career opportunities and raise aspirations for people from all backgrounds.
“I look forward to seeing Ridge and Partners’ team grow in the city.”
Ridge and Partners is being supported by Invest Newcastle, part of NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI), as it establishes itself within the city’s business ecosystem.
Alex Wright, NGI head of business engagement, added: “As an NGI partner, we will continue to support them as they embed themselves in the region, making connections and exploring new opportunities.”
