Jorvik Tricycles partners with luxury hotel
An electric tricycle retailer is partnering with a luxury hospitality destination to improve accessibility and sustainable exploration for guests on a rural estate.
York-based Jorvik Tricycles has announced its first corporate partnership with The Tawny, an independent hotel in Staffordshire’s Churnet Valley, to provide electric tricycles that allow guests to explore the estate with greater ease and independence.
Bosses say the collaboration, which began as a pilot in autumn 2025, reflects a shared commitment to inclusivity and environmental responsibility.
They add that the introduction of the tricycles builds on the hotel’s existing use of bikes, which were first introduced in 2022 and have become a core part of the guest experience.
James Walker, who founded Jorvik Tricycles in 2014, said: “This partnership is a real milestone for Jorvik Tricycles – the first of its kind and a meaningful step towards our mission of making cycling accessible for all.
“We’re thrilled to work with the team at The Tawny, offering more people the chance to experience the freedom and fun of electric tricycles in such a stunning setting.
“It’s a pleasure to partner with such a prestigious hotel and play a part in helping guests explore the estate.
“We hope this is the first of many partnerships.”
Josh Chadwick, general manager at The Tawny, added: “Since opening our doors in 2021, The Tawny Hotel has made sustainability central to everything we do.
“Expanding our existing cycling offering with two models from Jorvik Tricycles has been a really exciting milestone for us to offer our guests a new way of exploring the estate during their stay, allowing them total freedom while making sustainability and accessibility for all a priority.
“Already, we’ve received tremendously positive feedback from guests, who love the freedom the tricycles bring.”
Set within a 70-acre rewilded estate, The Tawny offers guests access to gardens, woodland and lakes, alongside accommodation including boathouses, treehouses and shepherds’ huts.
The hotel has embedded sustainability at the heart of its operations, running largely off-grid and using locally sourced renewable energy.
