Aon strengthens Newcastle office
Global professional services firm Aon has strengthened its Newcastle office with the appointment of Martin Flannigan as business development manager within its commercial risk team.
Martin joins Aon from Handelsbanken in Newcastle, where he was responsible for developing and managing relationships with private clients.
He brings 14 years’ experience in the finance sector, having previously spent the majority of his career at Barclays Bank.
In his new role, Martin will support the continued growth of Aon’s Newcastle office by working with large corporate organisations across the North East and Cumbria, helping them access Aon’s insurance and risk management expertise.
Martin said: “I’m a great believer in building relationships and matching the right solutions to clients’ needs.
“At Aon, I knew I could do this confidently.
“The scale of the organisation provides access to an exceptional breadth of data and resources, while its network of regional offices still enables meaningful local connections, which is important to me.
“I’m excited about the scale of the opportunity ahead to further develop the Aon brand across the North East and Cumbria, and to support new clients alongside Christine and the rest of the Newcastle team.”
Aon provides risk, retirement and health solutions to clients worldwide, supporting businesses with data-driven insights and specialist advisory services.
Christine Wood, head of office for Aon in Newcastle and Stockton, added: “Martin’s appointment is excellent news for the commercial risk team and an important step in our ambitious growth strategy.
“His strong background in financial services complements the expertise within our talented team, and I look forward to working closely with him.”
