R&B Switchgear strengthens senior leadership
Power engineering specialist R&B Switchgear Group has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of David Johnston as head of projects (oil & gas), as the business targets further growth in the energy sector.
David brings more than 30 years’ experience across engineering, service leadership and operational transformation.
He began his career as an engineer at Reyrolle before progressing into senior roles including UK head of service contracts at Siemens.
In his new role, David will lead the expansion of Heywood-based R&B Switchgear’s oil and gas projects portfolio, overseeing the delivery of low and high voltage power distribution solutions and supporting the development of new service offerings.
David said: “Joining R&B Switchgear Group at such a dynamic stage of its journey is incredibly exciting.
“The company has a clear vision for growth and a deep commitment to delivering five-star service.
“My focus will be on driving innovation, developing long-term partnerships, and ensuring our oil and gas projects set new standards for reliability, safety and performance.”
David’s appointment supports R&B Switchgear Group’s continued investment in senior talent and capability, as it expands its operations across the UK and internationally to meet demand from marine, industrial and energy clients.
Max Beswick, group managing director, added: “Dave’s appointment strengthens our senior leadership team and supports our continued investment in the oil and gas market.
“His exceptional technical pedigree and proven track record in leading complex service operations will be key as we accelerate our group-wide growth and build on our reputation for excellence.”
