SPELK co-founder takes BIID ambassador role
County Durham-based kitchen and interior design studio SPELK has seen co-founder Graeme Smith appointed as North and North West regional ambassador for the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID).
Graeme, who co-leads SPELK alongside fellow interior designer Kelly Smith, takes on the ambassador role in recognition of his contribution to contemporary interior design practice and his commitment to strengthening professional design culture across the north of England.
As a BIID regional ambassador, Graeme will act as a key point of connection between the Institute and designers across the region, supporting professional development, advocacy and knowledge-sharing.
Founded in County Durham, SPELK works across residential interiors, kitchens and bespoke furniture, with a place-led approach rooted in regional heritage, craft and long-term quality.
The BIID is the UK’s professional body for interior designers, promoting best practice, professional standards and the value of design nationwide.
