Avison Young strengthens Glasgow team
Global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young has promoted Kerry Maguire to head of valuation Scotland, alongside welcoming four new hires to its Glasgow office.
Kerry has spent more than five years as a director in the firm’s valuation team, advising across a wide range of sectors with particular expertise in public sector property and specialist private assets.
In her new role, she will lead asset valuation activity for public sector clients across Scotland.
Kerry said: “I’m pleased to be taking on this role leading our valuation team in Scotland.
“We have a strong platform already, and I’m looking forward to building on that, particularly by expanding our work in public sector asset valuation.
“With the talent we have in the team, including our new joiners, there’s a real opportunity to keep raising the bar in terms of the support we deliver to clients and I’m looking forward to collaborating with colleagues to drive that ambition forward.”
The Glasgow team has also been strengthened with the appointment of Margaret MacDonald as director in valuation, focusing on funds and secured lending across the commercial and living sectors.
She brings international experience from roles with CBRE and JLL.
Margaret added: “I’m keen to bring my international experience to the team, helping clients navigate complex valuations and uncover opportunities they may not see elsewhere.
“Working alongside a brilliant team, I’m looking forward to playing a key role in shaping the growth of our valuation business across Scotland and delivering the very best quality and results for our clients.”
Further additions include Sam Pascoe, as graduate building surveyor; Hannah Gibson, as planner within the telecoms team; and Eilidh MacPherson, as a graduate surveyor in valuation.
Iain King, regional managing director, Glasgow at Avison Young, added: “These appointments are a real statement of intent for our Scottish business.
“Kerry’s promotion to head of valuation Scotland recognises the depth of expertise she brings to our valuation offer, particularly in the public sector, and it’s fantastic to welcome Margaret, Sam, Eilidh and Hannah to the Glasgow team.
“Their combined skills and experience significantly strengthen our offer, enhancing our ability to deliver practical, high-quality advice for clients across Scotland.
“It’s an exciting time to be growing the business here.”
