Impact HR Consulting appoints safety head

Essex-based Impact HR Consulting has appointed James Balding as head of health and safety.

James joins the business with 13 years’ experience across health and safety roles, supported by professional accreditations including the NEBOSH National Diploma and CertIOSH status.

His background spans a wide range of sectors, including construction, logistics, warehousing, engineering and early years childcare, alongside experience as a CDM principal designer and manual handling trainer.

In his new role, James will lead the development and delivery of health and safety services across Impact HR’s national client base.

This will include consultancy support, audits, safety culture reviews and ongoing advisory partnerships.

He will also focus on expanding the firm’s construction safety capability, advising clients on CDM Regulations and providing principal designer services.

James said: “I'm excited to have joined Impact HR and am looking forward to growing the health and safety side of the business further, helping organisations to build safer, healthier workplaces, with an integrated approach to employee wellbeing, stress management and occupational health considerations.”

Greg Guilford, group chief executive of Impact HR, which has offices in Essex, Leicester, Leeds and London, added: “Having previously worked with James, I know how passionate he is about creating safer work environments, engaging teams in proactive health and safety practices, and tailoring solutions to meet the specific needs of an organisation.

“These are all qualities that align with everything Impact HR stands for.

“I look forward to working with James again and providing our clients with high-quality HR and health and safety support to keep their people and workplaces safe.”
