Celebrity chef unveiled for popular food festival
A celebrity chef is set to headline a major County Durham culinary event.
Phil Vickery has been unveiled as the top name at this year’s Bishop Auckland Food Festival.
The free event will take place on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, with chef Shivi Ramoutar and Great British Bake Off finalist Aaron Mountford-Myles also on the bill.
Organisers say This Morning star Phil, Shivi and Aaron will deliver cookery demonstrations on the Saturday, with details of Sunday’s line-up to be revealed.
They add Paul A. Young will also be delivering pre-booked chocolate workshops across the weekend.
The event will be hosted by BBC One’s Eat Well for Less? co-presenter Chris Bavin.
Councillor Karen Allison, Durham County Council cabinet member for leisure, tourism, regeneration and high street, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Phil back for April’s festival, and to have Chris back as host and Shivi and Aaron as part of our line-up.
“All four will be offering some fascinating insights into their skills that festival-goers really shouldn’t miss.”
