Northallerton agency broadens into sales
A North Yorkshire property business is broadening its offer as demand grows for local, full-service estate agency support.
Northallerton lettings agency John Prest has launched a property sales service, marking its transition from a lettings-focused operation into a full estate agency.
The move responds to increasing demand from local property owners looking to sell.
The expansion follows the agency’s acquisition in 2024 by North East estate agency group My Property Box, which has continued to invest in strengthening its presence across North Yorkshire.
While the John Prest name and High Street office have been retained to preserve its heritage and community links, the business now benefits from the systems and expertise of the wider group.
Nicola Nicholson, sales manager and valuer, said: “Over the past year, we’ve seen a clear increase in demand from home owners who want a local, trusted agent to handle their sales.
“This allows us to support clients throughout the full property lifecycle.
“Being part of My Property Box has made this possible.
“The investment, infrastructure and shared resources across the group mean we can deliver a professional, well-resourced sales service while maintaining the personal, relationship-led approach that John Prest is known for.”
Founded in 1926, John Prest has long been established in Northallerton, and now forms part of My Property Box’s growing regional network across the North East and North Yorkshire.
Nicola added: “What’s important is that clients still have access to a familiar local office and a team that understands the Northallerton market.
“The difference now is that we have the scale and backing to offer more, bringing sales into the business in a way that’s sustainable, well supported and focused on delivering the right outcomes for clients.”
