First Choice Homes Oldham strengthens board

Housing association First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) has strengthened its board with the arrival of two new non-executive directors and an independent committee member.

Collette King-Vogel and Gareth Rigby have joined the board for three-year terms. 

Collette will chair the People and Governance Committee, bringing senior leadership experience from across social housing and the wider commercial sector, most recently as director of people and performance at Chester Race Company.

Gareth joins the Investment and Development Committee, adding extensive experience across housing operations, asset management and development. 

He currently serves as executive director of customers, place and services at Weaver Vale Housing Trust.

In addition, Scott Rutherford has been appointed as an independent member of the Investment and Development Committee. Scott is chief property and regeneration officer at Orbit Group, with responsibility for more than 47,000 homes.

The appointments further strengthen FCHO’s governance as the organisation continues to invest in leadership and long-term delivery.

FCHO chair Amanda Harris said: “We’re delighted to welcome Collette and Gareth to their non-executive director roles. 

“I know they will be a great addition to our board and they both bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise to help us support the chief executive and his team.

“This is an exciting time for FCHO as we look to build at least 600 more homes in the years to come and improve our existing stock. 

“To help meet these ambitions a board with a wide range of skills is crucial.

“We’re also excited to welcome Scott as our latest independent committee member. 

“This is also a very important role and we look forward to utilising his extensive experience.”
