POWWR appoints new chief executive
Manchester-based energy software provider POWWR has appointed Paul Hodnett as chief executive as it enters a new phase of growth following a significant multi-million-pound investment from Five Elms Capital.
Paul, founder of the former UD Group, has been a key leader within POWWR since 2019, bringing nearly two decades of experience developing technology solutions for the energy broker and supplier market.
In his new role, he will lead POWWR’s product evolution as the company accelerates innovation and strengthens its position within the energy ecosystem.
Paul said: “When I started UD Group 16 years ago, we completely revolutionised the energy industry and were pioneers on so many fronts.
“After a period of transition and then of sustained stability, POWWR is now entering the next chapter and are excited to be pioneers again.
“Watch this space for some exciting and revolutionary new solutions that will help our customers win more deals and grow their businesses.”
The investment will also support a planned increase in headcount of up to 40 per cent over the next 12 months, reflecting POWWR’s continued expansion.
Stephanie Schneider, partner at Five Elms Capital, added: “Paul brings an insatiable passion for delighting customers with innovative products.
“His strategic vision and intrinsic knowledge of the industry make him uniquely positioned to lead the business in this next phase of growth.”
