North East firms agree digital partnership
A Newcastle-based technology specialist has secured a long-term partnership to modernise and enhance the digital infrastructure of a regional charitable trust.
Leighton, an AWS and software development business, will work with The eaga Trust to maintain and improve the performance of its digital estate.
Bosses say the agreement will see Leighton take responsibility for the trust’s AWS infrastructure, providing strategic guidance, architecture modernisation and identifying cost and efficiency opportunities.
They add the partnership also includes in-hours support for applications, infrastructure and websites, alongside proactive monitoring and continuous improvement reviews.
Compliance with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus standards will also be maintained as part of the arrangement.
James Bunting, chief executive at Leighton, said: “I’m expecting this partnership to be a brilliant example of what can be achieved when two North East organisations collaborate with a shared focus on making a difference.
“We are looking forward to using our deep AWS expertise to help the eaga Trust run a modern, secure and cost-efficient platform that enables them to focus on the amazing work they do to support members and their families.”
Richard Marr, chief executive at the eaga Trust, added: “This was a really competitive process, what impressed us most about Leighton is the wealth of AWS expertise within their business and their AWS Practice and their genuine interest in our business and what we do.
“Having the Leighton team as a partner will allow us to further improve our digital infrastructure in line with their recommendations and maximise the potential of our AWS estate.
“It’s fantastic to have them on board and we’re looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership with them.”
Established in 1999, The eaga Trust supports its members and their families with access to health and wellbeing services, holiday homes, education bursaries and training funding.
The enhanced digital platform is designed to ensure services remain secure, reliable and accessible.
Leighton, which holds more than 70 AWS certifications and works with major national brands such as British Airways, Atom Bank, Hays Travel, EQUANS, IAG Loyalty and Greggs, continues to strengthen its presence in the region’s growing digital sector through its specialist AWS practice.
