Marine engineer secures £4 million-plus wind farm deal
A marine engineer has secured a £4 million-plus energy sector deal.
Tekmar Group is set to send cable protection systems and associated apparatus to a European offshore wind farm.
Officials say the deal – secured with an existing unnamed customer – “reinforces the company’s leading position in the offshore wind industry”.
They add the County Durham-headquartered firm will deliver the order during its 2027 financial year.
Richard Turner, chief executive at the Newton Aycliffe-based business, said: “We are delighted to support our customer on this project, which represents another landmark European offshore wind development.”
The agreement comes after the business unveiled a $1.5 million deal to supply subsea protection apparatus to a Middle Eastern port development.
