Compass Developments promotes apprentice surveyor
Cramlington-based principal building contractor Compass Developments has promoted Adam Charlton to assistant quantity surveyor, underlining its commitment to developing future talent.
Adam, 23, from Seaton Delaval, joined the company four years ago as a technical apprentice while studying quantity surveying at Northumbria University.
After completing his degree, he has now moved into a full-time role within the commercial team.
Working alongside senior quantity surveyors Richard Harm and Mark Handyside, Adam is supporting live projects including Vaux South in Sunderland city centre, where Compass Developments is delivering 34 homes as part of the Sunderland Riverside masterplan.
He said: “From day one, I settled into the team with ease and working on live projects without doubt helped me with my degree.
“I’m looking forward to progressing my career with Compass Developments, it’s an exciting time to join the company as it has ambitious plans for growth.”
Compass Developments delivers commercial, industrial and residential schemes across the region, specialising in projects up to £10 million and providing full lifecycle construction and development support.
Stephen O’Neill, director at Compass Developments, added: “Adam is a bright talent who, for the last four years, has become a key member of our team, demonstrating enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.
“Working closely with his colleagues, Richard and Mark, I have no doubt he will continue to develop in a supportive environment.
“We want to play our part in developing the next generation of talented workers and Adam is a perfect example of a young person that has grasped the opportunity presented to him and is flourishing.”
