William Davis Homes strengthens senior team
Loughborough-based housebuilder William Davis Homes has appointed Louise Ward as head of planning and Robert Brown as head of health and safety, reinforcing senior leadership across the business.
Louise brings nine years’ experience within the planning teams of national housebuilders and is supporting the progression of planning applications to strengthen the company’s development pipeline.
She said: “I enjoy the negotiation, pace and thinking outside the box which working in planning requires.
“This type of role doesn’t come along often and I thought it was a great opportunity to work within a company which is known for upholding high standards.
“Everyone has been friendly and many people have worked for the company for a long time, which is a credit to William Davis.
“One of my focuses so far has been building relationships with local authorities, particularly through face-to-face meetings, which is something that is still missing from the industry post-Covid.
“By working with local authorities, we have a better understanding of what they need from us, so that communication is vital.”
Robert joins with more than seven years’ experience in housebuilding and a 26-year career in the Royal Engineers, where he delivered infrastructure projects internationally.
Since leaving the armed forces, he has held health and safety roles with major housebuilders.
Robert added: “In the military, I learned the true meaning of teamwork, and when it came to this role, William Davis’ values really stood out to me – it felt like the right place for me as a business which genuinely cares about its people.
“There are people in the business who have worked there for more than 30 years, including fathers who started as apprentices whose children are now apprentices with the company themselves, so there is a great family vibe.
“I work closely every day with teams across the business to make sure our standards are clear, consistent, and continuously improving.
“My favourite part of my role is the interaction with the tradespeople out on site, listening to their comments and making changes to help everyone in their work.”
Their appointments enhance William Davis Homes’ planning and operational capability as it continues to deliver new homes across the region.
Guy Higgins, managing director of William Davis Homes, added: “Louise and Robert both bring considerable knowledge and experience in their fields to our team, which is already proving invaluable as we progress our expansion plans across the East and West Midlands.
“We’re pleased to welcome them and I wish them every success for the next stages of their careers with us.”
