Yorkshire wedding venue secures refinance deal
A North Yorkshire wedding and events venue has secured refinancing to support its continued expansion just 18 months after opening.
High Brockholme Barns, which sits on an estate owned by the Hugill family since 1924 and was originally run as a mixed dairy farm, has received a growth-focused refinancing package from Metro Bank.
In 2024, the land was transformed into a luxury events destination featuring a ceremony barn, a six-bedroom house, four three-bedroom units and a honeymoon suite, accommodating up to 26 guests.
The Hugill family say the funding will help the venue build on early momentum and strengthen its position in the regional events market.
Heather Hugill, co-owner of High Brockholme Barns, said: “We’re thrilled to secure this refinancing package, which will act as a vital springboard as we move into the next phase of our growth.
“As an estate that has remained in our family for three generations, it meant a great deal to us that Jordan and the Metro Bank team truly understood our story and supported us throughout the funding process.
“Their relationship‑led approach gave us real confidence, and we’re excited about what this next chapter will bring.”
Leon Sloyan, head of commercial lending at Metro Bank, added: “We’re pleased to support a family-run enterprise in the hospitality sector with this refinancing package to fuel their next phase of growth.
“Venues such as High Brockholme Barns are also a hub for other business services, supporting local jobs and business owners.”
