Mall salutes 'defining year' after record footfall joy
A shopping centre has hailed a “defining year” after new retailers and family fun days helped bag record footfall.
Harlequin Watford welcomed 17.2 million people in 2025.
Officials say the figure reinforces the Hertfordshire mall’s position “as a vibrant retail hub for brands that mean business”.
They add the rise was fuelled by family-focused events and an increased store offer, which saw a larger JD outlet matched by White Stuff and Millie Moo openings.
Simon Plumb, centre director, said: “It’s a thrill to be announcing the highest footfall in our history.
“This achievement not only demonstrates the quality of our brand mix, but also our deep connection with the local community.
“Retail brands continue to invest and grow with us, while our events and placemaking initiatives are clearly resonating with guests.”
