Magnet strikes gold again for exemplary cabinetry

A Darlington-headquartered kitchen manufacturer is celebrating more than three decades of industry recognition after securing its latest top quality certification.

Magnet has been awarded FIRA Gold Product Certification for the 34th consecutive year, retaining the mark across its entire kitchen range since first achieving it in 1992. 

The certification, issued by FIRA International, follows rigorous independent testing, inspection and ongoing audits to ensure consistent product standards.

In Magnet’s advanced laboratory, cupboards and drawers are subjected to stress tests far beyond normal household use. 

Cupboard doors are opened and closed 60,000 times, while drawers undergo 100,000 cycles. 

Wall cabinets are also overload tested to ensure durability.

Charlie Allan, quality and technical manager at Magnet, said: “I am incredibly proud that we have achieved FIRA Gold for the 34th consecutive year with 100 per cent first time pass rate on our cabinetry. 

“This independent external validation demonstrates that the quality, performance and durability of our kitchens are genuinely industry leading.

Alongside FIRA Gold, Magnet holds the Manufacturing Guild Mark and has recently received recognition at the Ideal Home Awards.
