PPRO appoints new chief technology officer
London-based payments platform PPRO has appointed Alexander Matthey as chief technology officer to support its next phase of global growth and product innovation.
Alexander joins from AI startup Parloa and previously served as chief technology officer at global payments firm Adyen, where he led engineering, data and technology operations while helping scale its international platform.
He brings experience in building large-scale payments systems and applying AI to complex commercial environments.
In his new role, Alexander will focus on enhancing platform scalability and resilience, while accelerating the adoption of AI across PPRO’s technology stack.
He will also lead the continued development of the company’s infrastructure as it expands its global footprint.
Alexander said: “PPRO has built a highly respected local payments platform with big growth ambitions, and I’m excited to join the team at such a pivotal moment in its journey.
“I’m looking forward to shaping the future of local payments by fostering an environment where talented teams can move fast and make smart, independent decisions.
“By working closely with PPRO’s customers and partners, my focus will be on defining the next phase of growth and solving the most critical challenges as we set the global standard for local payment methods.”
Alexander’s appointment strengthens PPRO’s executive team as the business continues to evolve its local payments offering for enterprise clients worldwide.
Motie Bring, chief executive at PPRO, added: “We are very excited to welcome Alexander to PPRO’s leadership team.
“He brings unique experience in operating at scale within established payments organisations and valuable perspective as we expand our payments platform.
“His leadership will be a significant asset in driving our growth and strengthening our position as the global leader in local payments.”
