SMH Haywoods appoints senior client manager
SMH Haywoods, the Rotherham office of Yorkshire and Derbyshire professional services firm SMH Group, has appointed Ryan Byrne as senior client manager.
Ryan brings more than 20 years’ experience across audit, tax, advisory and forensic accounting, joining the firm in December 2025.
He began his career through an apprenticeship with a Doncaster accountancy practice in 2004, later qualifying with ACCA and becoming a partner and director at a larger regional firm in 2018.
Over nearly 17 years with his previous business, he advised a broad client base and worked across audit, accounts, tax, research and development claims and forensic assignments, including acting as an expert witness in an international fraud case.
In his new role, Ryan will support clients across the region while contributing to the continued growth of SMH Haywoods and the wider SMH Group.
Ryan said: “I am really pleased to be joining SMH Haywoods and becoming part of the wider SMH Group.
“I am looking forward to using the knowledge and experience I have built over the years to support clients and help the firm continue to flourish.
“The values and ambition of the group really resonated with me, and I am excited about what we can achieve together.”
Sharon Webb, partner at SMH Haywoods, added: “Ryan brings a wealth of experience and technical expertise, combined with a strong commitment to client service.
“His background and approach make him a great fit for our team in Rotherham, and we are delighted to welcome him to SMH Haywoods.”
