Builder boosts order book with Victorian villa project
A building contractor has bolstered its order book with support for a £40 million regeneration scheme.
C&AJ Marshalls is set to refurbish a Victorian Leeds villa.
The firm has been appointed by property letting and development company Pickard Properties to upgrade Burton Grange, in Far Headingley.
The work forms the next phase of Pickard Properties’ Spinning Acres redevelopment, with Weetwood-based C&AJ Marshalls set to convert the 19th century property into nine one and two-bedroom rental apartments.
The partnership builds on the contractor’s appointment to regenerate the Moor Grange and Moorfield Lodge buildings on the former University of Leeds estate.
Miles Pickard, director at Pickard Properties, said: “Burton Grange is another important piece of the Spinning Acres story.
“Each of these villas has its own identity and history, and our approach is always to respect that character while creating homes that feel relevant for modern living.
“Following the successful restoration of Moor Grange and Moorfield Lodge, we’re pleased to continue our partnership with Marshalls.”
Andy Barratt, of C&AJ Marshalls, added: “Our work at Moor Grange and Moorfield Lodge has shown what can be achieved through close collaboration, and we’re looking forward to applying that same care and craftsmanship again.
“It’s rewarding to play a role in bringing another historic villa at Spinning Acres back into everyday use.”
