SealStop makes Green Growth list
A North Yorkshire product manufacturer has been recognised nationally for turning environmental responsibility into commercial success.
SealStop, the Pocklington-based business behind an automatic shut-off valve designed to reduce water waste, has been named in the UK’s Green Growth 100.
The initiative, led by Small Business Britain in partnership with BT, highlights firms using sustainability as a core driver of growth.
Founded in 2024 by farmers Jason and Belle Richardson, SealStop was first launched in the equestrian market and is now expanding into the wider gardening sector.
Manufactured near York, the product is designed to save water and time, with rainwater harvesting tools currently in development.
The recognition places the company in the running for the Green Growth Awards in March 2026, with two businesses set to receive £5000 grants to support further sustainable expansion.
Belle said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been recognised as one of the UK’s leaders in sustainability-led growth.
“It’s a wonderful acknowledgement of why we created SealStop in the first place.
“We were tired of wasting water whenever life got in the way, so we developed a solution that gives people time back and encourages smarter water use, especially during dry spells when conservation is vital.
“This wonderful endorsement from Small Business Britain will make a real difference, raising our profile across the UK and sharing the benefits of SealStop with the gardening and equestrian community.”
Michelle Ovens CBE, chief executive and founder of Small Business Britain, added: “The Green Growth 100 celebrates the small businesses that are showing sustainability and growth go hand in hand.
“These businesses are not only reducing their environmental impact, but also strengthening their operations, engaging customers, and building more resilient business models.
“SealStop is a brilliant example of how sustainability can fuel long-term success.”
Chris Sims, chief commercial officer, UK business, at BT, added: “The businesses in the Green Growth 100 are setting the benchmark for how sustainability can unlock innovation and commercial opportunity.
“It’s inspiring to see how small businesses across the UK are turning greener practices into real business growth.
“We’re proud to support this initiative and congratulate SealStop on being recognised.”
