B7 appoints new directors
Newcastle-based video-first marketing agency B7 has appointed Phil Duggan and Gurdit Singh as directors, with both also becoming shareholders as the business enters its next growth phase.
Founded in 2020 by David Broom, B7 evolved from a consultancy into a video-led agency and has since adopted a retainer model to support longer-term client partnerships.
Phil previously partnered with David to refine the agency’s focus on video storytelling, while Gurdit brings experience co-founding ventures in financial advice and financial technology.
Phil said: “B7 has never felt like a job to me.
“We’ve built this business carefully, with belief and intent, and this next step formalises what we’ve already been doing – building something sustainable, values-led, and genuinely impactful for our clients.”
Gurdit added: “What attracted me to B7 was the clarity of thinking and the quality of the work.
“There’s a real opportunity to build a specialist agency that understands regulated, complex businesses and knows how to tell their stories properly.
“I’m excited to be part of shaping that future.”
The appointments mark a shift from a founder-led structure to a broader leadership team.
In its latest financial year, B7 recorded turnover of £262,563, representing a 255 per cent increase over two years, alongside a gross profit margin of around 75 per cent.
David Broom, founder of B7, added: “I believe those who pour heart and soul into building a business should benefit from it differently.
“Phil has treated B7 as his own from day one - and now that’s exactly what the business is.
“Bringing Phil and Gurdit onto the board isn’t just recognition of what they’ve contributed, it’s a commitment to how we build from here.”
