Walfinch Newcastle promotes community lead

Newcastle-based homecare provider Walfinch Newcastle has promoted Paige Stokes to community development manager after recognising her contribution to the growing service.

Paige joined the business as a frontline carer in early 2025 and will continue supporting clients directly while taking on wider community responsibilities.

She will lead the organisation’s Thrive Clubs, regular social sessions designed to reduce loneliness and promote wellbeing through activities and events.

Her role will also involve supporting carers across the team and contributing to day-to-day care delivery, ensuring clients benefit from both high-quality homecare and wider community engagement.

Paige said: “I joined Walfinch as a carer and I’ve really enjoyed being part of the team from the start, so stepping into this role is something I’m really excited about.

“I’ll still be working with clients, but I’ll also be getting more involved in the community side of things and leading the Thrive Clubs.

“It’s a great opportunity to support people in a different way and help create more opportunities for connection.”

Operating across Newcastle and North Tyneside, Walfinch Newcastle is expanding its leadership structure following its first CQC inspection, where it received a ‘Good’ rating.

Idris Nasar, managing director at Walfinch Newcastle, added: “Paige has made a real impression since joining us and has quickly become an important part of the team.

“As we continue to grow locally, it’s important we recognise people who want to develop and take on more responsibility.

“Paige’s promotion reflects the opportunities available at Walfinch for people who are committed to delivering high-quality care while also strengthening support within the wider community.”
