Close Brothers appoints regional consultant
Property lender Close Brothers Property Finance has appointed Stuart Heslop as consultant to support its regional team in Edinburgh.
Stuart will work alongside director Gary Ferris and colleagues across Scotland and the North of England.
He brings 35 years’ experience from Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest Group, where he served as managing director of real estate finance for Scotland and the North of England.
Since leaving banking, he has advised businesses across the UK property sector and held several non-executive roles.
Stuart’s appointment strengthens Close Brothers’ regional presence as it expands its lending footprint and supports SME developers across Scotland and the wider UK.
He said: “Over the last few years I have worked with a number of clients who speak very highly of the solutions that Close Brothers bring to the development funding market.
“I am looking forward to working with Phil and the team to help support a wide range of deals, as we look to grow our regional presence and cement our reputation as the go-to development lender in the market.”
Phil Hooper, chief executive of Close Brothers Property Finance, added: “At a time when we are broadening our regional lending hubs and diversifying our product offering, it feels the perfect moment to bring Stuart into Close Brothers.
“He will play a leading role in driving the business forward across Scotland and the North of England.
“He will also sit within the leadership team making a wider contribution to our growth strategy.
“I have known Stuart for 20 years and look forward to working alongside him once again.”
