FW Capital expands North East team
Fund manager FW Capital has strengthened its North East investment team with the appointments of Matt Elliott, Max Woodhouse and Ruby Knowles to support delivery of the £35 million North East Elevate Fund.
The fund, backed by the North East Combined Authority and launched in October, provides loans and mixed loan and equity investments of up to £1 million to established SMEs across Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham.
Matt joins as senior investment executive, bringing experience from Barclays and Handelsbanken.
Max has been appointed investment executive, adding corporate finance and accountancy expertise across multiple sectors.
Meanwhile, Ruby joins as assistant investment executive and will support the identification and assessment of investment opportunities, with a focus on micro-loans.
The trio will work to expand access to funding for businesses looking to scale and innovate across the region.
Joanne Whitfield, fund director at FW Capital, said: “Welcoming Matt, Max, and Ruby to the team marks a significant step forward in our mission to support the North East’s most ambitious businesses.
“Their collective experience complements our existing team, strengthening our position in the local market.
“The North East Elevate Fund is designed to be a catalyst for growth, and with this team’s combined expertise, we are better positioned than ever to provide the hands-on support and flexible finance that regional entrepreneurs deserve.”
