Energy deal puts wind in marine engineer's sails
A marine sector repairs and maintenance firm has secured a multi-million-pound energy contract.
Aventus Energy is working on huge structures for the Inch Cape offshore wind farm.
Bosses say the “key achievement” represents the company’s “single biggest individual contract to date”.
The Invergordon-based firm is inspecting foundations and transition pieces ahead of installation on the 72-turbine North Sea energy development.
Work is being carried out at Edinburgh’s Port of Leith.
Ross Thomson, Aventus Energy managing director, said: “This major renewable project is a key achievement for us, and another great opportunity to showcase our capabilities.
“The award of such a vital contract supporting Scotland’s energy transition is a real endorsement of our ability.”
Aventus Energy operates within the wider Global group, which includes Global Port Services and Global Crane Services.
Gordon Farmer, Global board director, added: “The Inch Cape project is another example of Global bringing group expertise together to support the energy transition.”
