Is Your Business Ready for Ofsted's New Focus on Inclusivity?

If you employ an apprentice, you could be called upon during an Ofsted inspection — and the rules have just changed. Here's what you need to know, and how to prepare in just 90 minutes.

Ofsted Has Changed — And It Affects You

Ofsted has relaunched its inspection framework, and this time, inclusivity sits right at the heart of it. For organisations that employ apprentices, this is not something you can afford to ignore.

Under the updated framework, Ofsted inspectors may speak directly with a representative from your company — not just the training provider — to understand how inclusive practice is embedded within your organisation. They want to see that apprentices are genuinely supported, that challenges are identified early, and that your workplace is set up for every apprentice to thrive.

That's a big ask if you haven't had time to think it through. The good news? Help is here.

Introducing the Inclusive Practice Awareness Workshop

Delivered by Zenith Training and funded by the UK Government through the North East Combined Authority, this FREE 90-minute workshop has been designed specifically to help employers like you get inspection-ready — fast.

It's practical, jargon-free, and built around the realities of running a business while supporting apprentices day to day.

What the Workshop Covers

  • What Ofsted will ask — and why it matters for employers
  • How the inspection process works from an employer's perspective
  • What you need to demonstrate to inspectors
  • Defining Inclusive Practice in plain terms
  • Understanding the challenges your apprentices may be facing
  • Spotting signs that someone needs support — before issues escalate
  • Practical inclusive strategies you can apply straight away
  • A reflection and action planning session to leave you with clear next steps

Why This Matters More Than You Might Think

Many employers assume that Ofsted inspections are solely the training provider's concern. But that's no longer the case. Inspectors are increasingly looking at the entire apprenticeship experience — including the workplace.

If your organisation is visited and a team member is asked about inclusive practice without any preparation, that conversation could reflect poorly — not just on the training provider, but on your business too. Conversely, employers who are well-prepared can demonstrate real leadership and become a positive part of the inspection picture.

Beyond inspections, there's a bigger reason to care: inclusive workplaces produce better outcomes. Apprentices who feel supported are more engaged, more productive, and more likely to complete their programme and stay with your business long-term.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is ideal for anyone within an employer organisation who works with, manages, or supports apprentices. This includes line managers, HR professionals, team leaders, and business owners.

Ofsted inspections can happen at short notice. The employers who fare best are the ones who are prepared — not the ones who had to figure it out on the day. This free 90-minute workshop could make all the difference.
