Plexus Innovation relocates to Sunderland hub
A fast-growing North East technology consultancy has relocated to new premises to support its expanding operations.
Plexus Innovation has moved from Tanfield Lea, in Stanley, to the Evolve Business Centre in Houghton-le-Spring, marking a new phase of growth for the company.
Founded in County Durham, Plexus Innovation develops advanced Internet of Things (IoT) technology that enables remote monitoring of water systems, helping organisations improve health and safety and meet regulatory requirements through real-time data.
Its technology is already used by more than 35 NHS trusts as well as public and commercial sector clients, and is deployed in major London landmarks including the Old Bailey and Tower Bridge.
Bosses say the move provides additional space as the firm continues to develop its technology and client base.
Managing director Steve Todd said: “We chose Evolve because of its modern facilities, flexible workspace, and the supportive business ecosystem it offers.
“The new office will provide us with the space and infrastructure needed to support our expanding team, enhance collaboration, and continue developing innovative solutions for our growing client base.”
Councillor Kevin Johnston, cabinet member for housing, regeneration and business at Sunderland City Council, which owns and operates the Evolve Business Centre, added: “It’s fantastic to see yet another innovative business relocating to Evolve and creating highly skilled jobs for local people.
“The business centre was established to provide an environment for new and growing businesses in the North East to thrive, and the relocation of Plexus Innovation to Sunderland is a fantastic example of how it continues to do just that.”
