Engineer to support business park growth
A Yorkshire engineering consultancy has secured work on the next phase of a business park redevelopment transforming a former gas processing site into a hub for regional enterprise.
Wakefield-based HJ Consulting Engineers is providing civil and structural engineering services for Lindum Group, as construction begins on new commercial space at Pickering Park in North Yorkshire.
The latest phase will deliver 18,410sq ft of purpose-built accommodation aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses.
It forms part of the wider regeneration of the 18-acre site, where the first phase saw nine industrial units built and fully sold.
HJ Consulting Engineers is supporting the scheme with services including civil and structural engineering, highway and drainage design, hydraulic modelling, sustainable drainage systems and flood risk assessments.
The project comes as the firm, which employs 26 engineers, continues to experience growing demand for consultancy support from developers advancing commercial schemes across the region.
Andrew Fairburn, managing director, said: “The work at Pickering Park is another prestigious project for us, building on previous successes with commercial property developments right across Yorkshire and the wider national landscape.
“It showcases our engineering capabilities together with the skills and expertise available locally to help bring forward ambitious commercial property investments and detailed design work.”
Andy Gardner, senior development manager at Lindum Group, added: “We’re pleased to be playing a part in regenerating this former industrial site into a vibrant hub of activity that supports jobs, investment and enterprise.
“Our engineering partners HJCE, bring critical insight and project management experience to their work, we look forward to bringing this latest development to fruition.”
