Tees Valley schools receive half term revamp
A property refurbishment specialist has completed improvement works across a dozen Tees Valley schools during the half term break.
186 Property Solutions delivered projects at 12 schools across the region, including Breckon Hill Primary School and Brambles Primary Academy in Middlesbrough, alongside St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School in Redcar.
The programme included a range of upgrades such as classroom and washroom refurbishments, new flooring, sink stations, built-in storage and the installation of fire door sets.
All work was scheduled during the school holiday period to avoid disruption, allowing pupils and staff to return to updated facilities once the new term began.
The projects reflect a growing focus on the education sector for the Darlington-headquartered firm, with director Mike Besterfield leading work related to school developments.
Mike said: “Half term might be a break for the schools, but for us it’s one of the busiest weeks of the year.
“It gives us a short window to get in, get the work done properly and hand everything back ready for the new term.
“It’s about providing staff and pupils with safe, practical spaces that meet modern standards and genuinely work for them.
“Thoughtful improvements, modernisation and smarter use of existing space can make a real difference to the day-to-day experience and how effectively a school operates.”
The latest programme builds on an expanding portfolio of education projects.
Last year, the company, which operates across the North East, North West, London and the South East, recorded a 25 per cent rise in turnover, supported by a surge in demand for school refurbishment work, including 64 contracts completed during the summer.
