Finastra leader elected DAMA vice president
Peter Vennel, global head of data governance at financial services software firm Finastra, has been elected vice president of DAMA International.
Based in London, Peter will serve a three-year term with the global professional association for data management, helping guide its strategy and support chapters and members worldwide.
In his new role, he will chair the Governance and Nominations Committee and serve on the Finance Committee, contributing to the organisation’s leadership and oversight.
Peter said: “Data is a critical asset for organisations navigating modernization, regulatory complexity and rising customer expectations.
“I’m honoured to serve DAMA International and collaborate with data professionals globally to advance responsible data stewardship and governance excellence.”
Peter’s appointment reflects growing industry focus on data quality, governance and regulatory alignment across financial services.
Gina van Dalen, executive director at DAMA International, added: “Peter brings deep expertise in enterprise data governance and financial services and broad knowledge in effective board management.
“His leadership will support DAMA’s mission to advance data management best practices across industries worldwide.”
