Ward appoints waste sales head
Metal recycling and waste management specialist Ward, headquartered in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, has appointed Denise Banks as head of sales for its waste division.
Denise brings more than 35 years’ experience in the waste industry, having held commercial roles with both regional SME operators and multinational providers.
In her new role, she will focus on driving commercial growth across Ward’s industrial and commercial waste services, including strengthening the sales team, improving customer retention and supporting key account management.
Denise said: “I’m really excited to join the Ward team.
“Throughout my long career in waste management to date, I’ve admired them afar, as a long-established, well-respected provider and an innovative, independent family business.
“There is an ambitious growth strategy and a clear commitment to delivering an excellent full-service offering for their valued customers - that’s what really attracted me to the business.
“It’s a privilege to join and bring skills and experience that can support them in the next stage of their growth plan.”
Ward is the UK’s largest independent metal recycling and waste management company and continues to invest in advanced waste processing facilities as it works towards diverting 100 per cent of material from landfill.
Donald Ward, operations director at Ward, added: “We’re excited to welcome Denise to the Ward team.
“She has an impressive track record of delivering results in waste sales, coupled with a customer first approach that fits perfectly with our ethos.
“We’re looking forward to how we can work together to further enhance and expand our industrial and commercial waste business at a regional level from Leicester to Chesterfield and beyond, to give the best value to customers.”
