Motor detailership drives on with four-strong deal
A motor dealer has shifted its portfolio up a gear with a quadruple takeover.
Lithia UK has bought four Read Motor Group sites.
The firm has added MG Grimsby and Hyundai dealerships in Derby, Doncaster and Grimsby to its Evans Halshaw arm.
Bosses say the move has secured all 75 Read Motor Group staff and will support a further 38 additional posts across its forecourts.
They add it has taken Evans Halshaw’s countrywide stable to 77 bases.
Neil Williamson, operations president at Nottingham-headquartered Lithia UK, said: “This is a continuation of our strategy to expand our presence in specific regions and will deepen our representation with Hyundai and MG brands.”
Gary Armstrong, Evans Halshaw managing director, added: “We’ve experienced an upward trend in volume brand sales over the past 18 months, so it’s fantastic to add more Hyundai and MG stores.
“This will enable us to grow our customer base and meet demand.”
Lithia UK also includes Stratstone, Hatfields Motor Group, Jardine Motor Group, Arden Motors and Pendragon.
