Mayor set to face the floor in Darlington
A regeneration boss is inviting residents to quiz him directly at a live public event in Darlington.
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen will host the latest Mayor’s Question Time session at Darlington Mowden Park on Wednesday, March 18, giving residents the opportunity to put questions to him in person.
The event forms part of a series designed to increase transparency and engagement between the Mayor and communities across the Tees Valley.
An independent journalist will chair the session and select questions submitted by audience members attending the ticketed event.
Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, with entry free but limited to ticket holders.
Mayor Houchen said: “People across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool deserve the chance to have their questions answered and their voices heard.
“We’re holding another Mayor’s Question Time event to give local people the opportunity to ask the questions that matter to them and hear directly about the decisions shaping our region.
“This is a chance for people to come along in person and have a proper conversation about the future of our area, from jobs and growth to transport and issues affecting local people every day.”
The initiative was approved by the Tees Valley Combined Authority Cabinet last year, with further Question Time sessions planned in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland in the coming months.
