Remote work platform SWURF raises £200,000
An Edinburgh-based remote working platform has secured fresh investment to expand its flexible workspace network across Scotland’s capital.
SWURF has raised £200,000 in a new funding round to accelerate growth and roll out more of its on-demand SWURF Pods, private meeting spaces designed for professionals needing secure environments for calls and virtual meetings.
The Edinburgh start-up’s pods feature soundproofing, private WiFi networks, smart lighting and air filtration, providing bookable workspaces for people working across the city.
Locations already include Edinburgh Airport and YOTEL on Queen Street, with further sites planned.
Alongside the pods, the company’s app connects users with remote-work friendly venues including hotels, cafés and bars, allowing professionals to access secure WiFi and perks when checking in.
More than 450 venues are listed on the platform, supporting a community of 14,000 users.
Bosses say the funding will support expansion as SWURF aims to make Edinburgh one of the world’s leading cities for flexible working.
Nikki Gibson, chief executive and co-founder of SWURF, said: “This latest investment is a testament to what we are building as we continue to redefine remote working.
“People want more than just a desk, they need flexibility, security, and environments that inspire productivity.
“Our mission is to make Edinburgh the global gold standard for flexible working.
“By expanding our network of host venues and rolling out our high tech SWURF Pods, we are ensuring that whatever your work needs are, the city is your office.”
