Cybersecurity firm 'going places' after office move

A cybersecurity firm has expanded with a city office move.

Sapphire has opened a Glasgow base.

Bosses say the 4500sq ft venture reflects a “business that is going places”.

They add the site – which comes just days after the firm revealed a Newcastle office move – will significantly increase Sapphire’s security operations centre that supports organisations nationally.

Founded in 1996, Sapphire provides managed security services and consulting support to clients ranging from SMEs to large government bodies across sectors including financial services, manufacturing, gaming and insurance.

Ian Thomas, chief executive of 100-plus-staff Sapphire, said: “Opening new offices in Glasgow and Newcastle is an important step.

“After the pandemic, many businesses lost something in the day-to-day interaction that helps people learn, develop and grow, and these offices create the right environment to bring teams together again.

“We have operated in Scotland since 2000, and having a city centre base gives us access to an excellent talent pool, as well as being close to customers across Scotland.

“The new office also gives us the space and capacity we need for the next stage of our growth, including a security operations centre that is three times the size of our previous provision.”
