Engineer looks to expand with financial boost
An industrial parts maker is set to engineer a jobs and equipment drive after a £74,000 boost.
Clifton Engineering says it will create “several” posts and buy machinery as it bids to expand into new sectors.
The blueprint follows financial support from the Business Growth Fund.
Bosses say the cash will allow the firm, based in Morpeth, Northumberland, to increase polyurethane moulding capacity and buy additional CNC machines.
Founded in 1993, the business fashions components and assemblies for a range of sectors through services including CNC machining, toolmaking, polyurethane tool design, 3D printing and laser engraving.
Andrew Pearson, managing director, said: “We are excited to embark on the next phase of our growth journey, which will help us tap into new markets and industrial sectors.
“This funding allows us to invest in larger and more sophisticated machine tools to support future growth and fulfil customer demands.”
The firm was supported in its finance drive by business support organisation UMi, which manages the £1.8 million Business Growth Fund.
Jonpaul Heron, UMi adviser, added: “Supporting Clifton Engineering to secure this funding has been hugely rewarding.
“The investment empowers them to expand, access new markets and take on bigger projects, positioning them as a global leader in polyurethane engineering.”
The Business Growth Fund is backed by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
