Stephenson-Mohl appoints business development director
Public affairs consultancy Stephenson-Mohl Group has appointed Neil Whittaker as director of business development.
Neil will work between the firm’s Newcastle headquarters and its Westminster office, helping connect regional organisations with national policymakers and supporting businesses investing in northern England.
He brings more than 20 years’ experience in business growth, stakeholder engagement and public policy, having previously held senior roles across SMEs, private equity-backed firms and PLCs.
Neil also spent almost nine years as director of marketing and communications at Learning Curve Group, where he supported the organisation during a period of significant growth.
He said: “Stephenson-Mohl Group is a genuine regional success story, helping the North East attract investors while working with clients to influence decisions made in Westminster, and when the opportunity to join the business arose, I didn’t have a moment’s hesitation.
“For almost a decade the company has worked with some of the North of England’s most recognisable businesses to help deliver vital development and renewables projects, worked with firms to enhance the region’s clean energy credentials, created opportunity for talented individuals and, more recently, managed renewable energy projects that will go a long way to helping the UK become energy self-sufficient in the future.
“Having known Mark and much of the team for many years, I know I am joining an exciting, ethical and motivated business that, while it operates across the UK, has its heart very much in North East England.”
Mark Stephenson, managing director of Stephenson-Mohl Group, added: “Neil is a fabulous addition to our team and is going to be a big part of our story as we look ahead.
“He brings political acumen, business development experience and, importantly for us, is an expert in communications.
“Stephenson-Mohl Group works with some incredible clients to deliver some incredible projects.
“Neil’s expertise will help us showcase the fantastic work we’re doing that is enhancing the North East jobs market, business space or energy generation potential.”
