Crunch Media hires commercial managing director
Birmingham-based digital media agency Crunch Media has appointed Sam Rock as commercial managing director as it looks to expand across the Midlands.
Founded in 2007, the agency employs a team of eight and supports major brands including BT Group, Marston’s and Brand Point Zero with strategic talent acquisition.
Sam brings more than 20 years’ experience leading employer brand and attraction strategies across both the public and private sectors, with previous senior roles at the Metropolitan Police, Rolls-Royce and Barclays.
Over the next 12 months, she will focus on growing Crunch Media’s presence across the Midlands, with particular emphasis on Birmingham’s expanding technology and digital employment market.
She said: “With Birmingham fast becoming a leading tech employer in the UK – it’s crunch time and there’s a huge opportunity for us to support organisations in building the right employer brand and attracting the digital talent they need.
“Tech hiring has moved into a precision era.
“Budgets are being scrutinised, but the need for exceptional people in scarce skills hasn’t gone away.
“Talent acquisition leaders are under pressure to prove which roles matter most, which channels are delivering, and how they’ll protect quality even when spend is reduced.
“That’s the work I’ve been doing for years, and it’s the mission I’m here to scale at Crunch.”
Sam added: “Recruitment marketing can’t just be creative; it has to be accountable.
“The teams I respect most have a clear tiering model for roles, an honest view of what the data says, and the confidence to double down on what works while cutting what doesn’t.
“That’s where Crunch is heading and why it was the right time for me to join.”
