Work begins on 71-home Newbiggin scheme
A Northumberland housebuilder has begun work on a new residential development aimed at delivering a mix of modern homes in a coastal community.
Ascent Homes, part of Advance Northumberland, has started construction on Scholars Park in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, a 71-home scheme on the site of a former primary school.
The development will feature a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties, including bungalows, designed to appeal to first-time buyers, families and downsizers.
Located on the Northumberland coast, the scheme offers access to local facilities, schools and transport links, alongside nearby outdoor spaces.
Affordable housing will also form part of the development, helping support local demand.
Paul Errington, director at Ascent Homes, said: “This development will provide much-needed new homes for Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.
“We have carefully designed the scheme to enhance the surrounding area while delivering exceptional new homes.
We look forward to working with the local community as the development moves forward.”
