Close Brothers bolsters London lending team

Property lender Close Brothers Property Finance has appointed Aaron de Silva as business development director in its London team.

Aaron joins from Relendex, where he spent six years specialising in development finance for SME housebuilders, focusing on deal origination, execution and fundraising.

He brings 15 years’ experience across the property sector, having previously worked at Hamptons and Knight Frank, before supporting the expansion of a legal firm’s conveyancing division in London and the South East.

In his new role, Aaron will build relationships with SME housebuilders and sector partners across the region.

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining Close Brothers Property Finance, whose relationship‑led culture and long track record of supporting SME housebuilders strongly resonate with my own values.

“Close Brothers Property Finance has built a strong reputation as a long-term partner for SME housebuilders, and I’m excited to help support the next phase of the division’s growth.”

Aaron’s appointment strengthens Close Brothers Property Finance’s support for developers as it continues to grow its lending activity across London and the South East.

Daniel Joyce, managing director of Close Brothers Property Finance, London, added: “Aaron’s breadth of experience across the residential development ecosystem makes him a fantastic addition to our London team.

“His in-depth knowledge of the market and strong relationships with SME housebuilders and advisers will play a key role as we continue to support SME developers with simple, flexible funding.”
