Crowne Plaza Glasgow appoints general manager
Glasgow-based hotel Crowne Plaza Glasgow has appointed Andrew McLoughlin as general manager.
Andrew brings more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality sector, having held senior roles across the UK with brands including Jurys Inn, Accor, Hilton and Crowne Plaza.
He joins the waterfront hotel as part of Valor Hospitality’s UK and Europe portfolio, returning to a general manager position after previously working in operational leadership roles.
In his new role, Andrew will oversee hotel operations and support continued growth as the venue prepares for a busy period, including its role as an official hotel for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Andrew said: “The Crowne Plaza Glasgow is a thriving hotel in an incredible city - one I have had the pleasure of working in throughout my career.
“I have been fortunate to work in some great operational roles in recent years, but it feels right to return to the position of general manager of such a high-profile city hotel.
“It is performing well and has a great team at its core.
“The decision to join Valor Hospitality was a no-brainer considering its reputation in the industry.
“It is a key player in the hospitality sector, and its people-centric approach shone from my first meeting with them.
“I’m joining this hotel at a great time.
“It’s looking ahead to an exciting summer with the Commonwealth Games, and its relationship with the SEC continues to be successful.
“I’m lucky to be joining a hotel that’s already in a great place.
“My focus is on continuing to help the hotel thrive, supporting an already very successful long-standing team, and growing the hotel for both Valor and its owners.”
Brian McCarthy, president at Valor Hospitality UK & Europe, added: “The Crowne Plaza Glasgow is an important hotel to Valor.
“It continually performs thanks to its incredible team, and Andrew is certainly well placed to lead it.
“His career with various major hotel brands makes him a valuable addition to Valor, and we’re sure he will take this already excellent hotel to new levels.”
