Helping landlords and tenants to light the Fuse
One of the UK’s fastest-growing providers of commercial property solutions has connected the past with the future — thanks to new name Fuse.
A full rebrand reflects managing director Jamie Mableson’s ongoing commitment to delivering a sector-leading end-to-end service for landlords and their tenants.
And the switch to Fuse — incorporating Fuse Media and Fuse Connect — has sparked a fresh approach to streamlining costs, connecting businesses and igniting growth.
“The rebrand reflects Fuse’s renewed focus on providing integrated solutions to the commercial property sector,” explains Jamie.
“We’re all about helping landlords reduce the costs associated with vacant buildings and, at the same time, enabling businesses to move into properties and begin operating faster.
“Key to that is ensuring new tenants can do business from day one. In 2026 data connectivity is as critical as a consistent supply of electricity or water.
“Without reliable internet access, companies are unable to operate their systems, communicate with customers or conduct day-to-day business activity.
“By addressing connectivity challenges at the point of occupation, Fuse helps remove a significant barrier that frequently delays commercial lettings.”
A dynamic move by the Newcastle-based business takes place against the backdrop of a consolidation of ownership.
Jamie stepped away from previous roles within the telecoms sector — including work with Fusion Connected and Fuse Telecom — to focus fully on the development and growth of Fuse.
Fuse works closely with commercial property agents, landlords and tenants to address two key challenges in the commercial property lifecycle: the financial impact of vacant buildings and the delays that often occur when tenants attempt to establish reliable data connectivity.
“One of the most common barriers to tenant occupation is data connectivity,” explains Jamie. “Many businesses simply can’t operate without reliable internet access but traditional data installations can take several weeks — or even months — to complete.
“Just imagine how frustrating that can be? Your business has moved into brand new premises, it’s in the perfect position to grow and yet you can’t connect with your suppliers or customers!
“Fuse helps remove this obstacle by providing almost immediate data connectivity, enabling tenants to become operational from day one while permanent connectivity solutions are arranged.”
When commercial buildings become vacant, landlords are often liable for significant business rates costs once the initial exemption period ends.
Fuse works with property owners and agents to help limit these costs through a fully managed, short-term occupation programme designed to reduce the financial burden during void periods.
This approach allows landlords to retain capital that can be reinvested into the property while it is being marketed.
“A great example of how Fuse has been able to make a positive impact within the commercial property sector is at Hadrian House in Newcastle,” adds Jamie.
“Our team implemented a business rates saving strategy during the building’s vacant period and then supported incoming tenants by providing immediate connectivity once they took occupation.
“Thanks to the savings made, the landlord was able to reinvest directly into the building’s infrastructure.
“Fuse advised on — and supported — this reinvestment, leading to the upgrade of the building’s internet and data capabilities. This upgrade enabled the introduction of a high‑speed, private and secure data package available to incoming tenants.
“The transition was seamless and both landlord and tenants felt the benefit.”
